Make a round SC coaster

What you'll learn
Magic RingAn adjustable starting loop. You work your first round into it, then pull it tight — no hole in the center.Working in RoundsInstead of turning, you keep going around in the same direction. Place a stitch marker at the start.Increase (inc)Two SC into the same stitch. This makes the circle grow outward.Slip Stitch JoinAt the end of each round, slip stitch into the first stitch to close the circle.
What you'll need
- Cotton worsted weight (#4) — cotton makes the best coasters
- 5.0mm (US H/8)
- Scissors
- Stitch marker (or a scrap of contrasting yarn)
