Six-Leaf Flower

Step 1: Make the centre and 6 spines
mr

Round 1: Make a magic ring, work 6 sc into it, and join with a sl st. Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sc), join. Now add 6 spines, one on every other sc: *ch 9; sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch back to the base (8 sl sts) to form the spine; sl st in the next sc to walk to the next spine.* Repeat from * for all 6 spines.

Step 2: Work a leaf onto each spine
mr

Dress each spine with a leaf blade. From the base, work one stitch into each chain up the first side — sc, hdc, dc, tr, tr, dc, hdc, sc — then work a ch-3 picot at the tip (ch 3, sl st in the first ch) to turn. Work the second side back down to the base with the mirror sequence — sc, hdc, dc, tr, tr, dc, hdc, sc. Sl st to the next spine and repeat. 6 petals in all.
