How to Assemble
- 1Before working round 13, stuff firmly with polyfill. Continue crocheting, adding more stuffing as the opening gets smaller.Watch tutorial
- 2Fasten off, cutting the yarn with a long tail (about 1 yd / 1 m) — you will shape with it next. Thread the tail on a tapestry needle, pass it through the remaining 6 stitches, and pull tight to close the opening. Keep the tail attached.Watch tutorial
- 3Shape the segments: pass the long tail through the pumpkin from bottom to top. Wrap it around the outside and pass it through the center again, pulling snug so the wrap indents a groove. Repeat for 6 evenly spaced wraps, then knot and hide the tail inside.
- 4Stem (make 1): with brown or green yarn, work 6 sc in a magic ring, then 4 rounds of sc (6 sts each round) to make a short tube. Fasten off and stuff lightly.Watch tutorial
- 5Sew Stem to the center top of the pumpkin.Watch tutorial
- 6Fasten off and weave in all yarn ends with a tapestry needle.
