How to Crochet Back Loop Only

Working into only the back loop of each stitch. Creates visible ridges. Used for ribbing and amigurumi texture.

Step by Step

  1. 1Look at the top of the stitch — you'll see 2 loops (front and back)
  2. 2Insert your hook under ONLY the back loop (the one further from you)
  3. 3Complete the stitch as normal
  4. 4The unused front loop creates a visible ridge
